2023: All Systems Go

2022 was an interesting year to say the least. Main highlight was the first edition of the Space Engineering Minor at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. This study programme for 3rd and 4th year students of the faculty of Aeronautical & Precision Engineering started back in september 2022 and is being finished this january. One of the highlights was the guest lectures where the BSc. students got the chance to meet real people working in the Space Industry (see picture).

The students also worked on a number of interesting projects. A testing facility for the Lunar Zebro rover was constructed, an Space Situational Awareness (SSA) RF terminal was tested and the first feasibility analyses were performed for InhollandSat-1.

For my company Eye On Orbit, it was a quiet year as most of my time in 2022 got consumed by the organization of the Space Engineering Minor. I did one interesting contract for a large investment group, that has interest in funding space projects. In addition, I only did 3 public outreach events and was interviewed by media 19 times. Also, my situation at home with my family took lots of time and energy but fortunately, 2023 already looks orders of magnitude better than 2022 ever was! Thanks for all colleagues for their patience and help, when I needed to divert time and energy toward my family.

2023 is already well underway, and marks the 10th anniversary of Eye On Orbit. I hope your ignition and lift-off in 2023 started well for you as well! If you are in need of independent, reliable, creative and focused expertise for policy, programmes, projects and proposals for space activities, I do hope our paths will cross (again) in the new year!
