TEDxDelft: start a 'Buzz' for Lodewijk van den Berg

Apollo 11 Moon walkers Neil Armstrong, Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin and Michael Collins returned from the Moon in july 1969 and were welcomed all over the planet as heroes. See below how they met the Dutch royals and visited Amsterdam.

After the moonlanding, the first man on the Moon, Neil Armstrong sought the quietness of life outside of the public crosshairs after his adventure. The second man on the Moon, Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin became rather a celebrity because of his flamboyant lifestyle. Buzz Lightyear, one of the heroic toys in PIXAR's trilogy Toystory is even named after him. See their connection below.

The party in Sluiskil, the birthplace of Dutch-American astronaut Lodewijk van den Berg, was very intimate and modest when their son returned to homeground after being in Space for about a week in 1985.
On November 7, Lodewijk van den Burg will return to Delft, the city where he finished his masters in chemical engineering in 1961. Let's start the buzz to give him a deserved welcome home! Register here for TEDxDelft!
